What’s up there?
As an attempt to write more in this blog, I decided to create a regular feature for my blog. This time, it’s all about lists! I will write so many lists with this feature, whether it’s my bucket list, a books list, a music list, food list, whatever!
I will try to post this list at least once a month, maybe bi-weekly if I have the time, we’ll see it later,
Ok, now let’s go with today’s list: 5 Top Podcast.
I’ve just started listening to podcast earlier this week. It all started on Monday when I was bored and had nothing to do. Then, I stumbled upon a review about a podcast, and I decided to give it a try.
So, what is a podcast? I think we can simply say that a podcast is like a digital radio but you can download the episode to your phone or computer to listen to it.
After reading the article, I downloaded an app in my phone straight away. If you are using an Android phone/tablet, I suggest you to download Pocket Casts. It’s simply the best podcast player on Android.
If you are using iOS products, you can just use the Podcasts app. I think it’s already built-in in every iOS products. But I don’t know. If you need to download the app, just go here.
Oh and if you use Mac OS X, you can subscribe and listen to podcasts from iTunes Store straight away.
When I first opened the Pocket Casts app, I was overwhelmed with the choices of podcasts that I had. I started to surf the internet to find the best podcasts available out there. Don’t worry, it’s all compiled in this post. So, let’s get started!
1. The Minimalists
Lately, I’ve been obsessed with the idea of decluttering and living a minimalist life. I started to read some books and articles about decluttering. Then I found this website about minimalism—The Minimalists. Turns out, they do podcasts too!
In their podcasts, they will answer some questions about living a minimalist life from their followers on social media. They offer a handy tips to get you started with minimalism too! I’ve always wanted to start my own business one day. The majority of my books is revolving around this wish. So, when I heard that there is actually a podcast about startup, I downloaded them without a second thought!
StartUp is a podcast series about what it’s really like to get a business off the ground. It will revolve around the host’s story of launching his own business. I’m currently half of my way on finishing the first season and so far it’s very good!
This is a podcast about, well, millenials. It promises to help you learn about the things people never taught to you—how to maneuver your 20s. This podcast follows the life of the recently graduated host.
Well I think this podcast is a must-listen for millenials. It is very entertaining and insightful. And it promises to help you go through your 20s!
This is by far the most blown up podcast in the world. It tells one story for the entire season. And the story is real! Each episode is a chapter of the story. So, it’s very important to listen from the very first episode if you don’t want to get lost.
The first season follows a man that has been in prison for 15-year for the murder of his ex-girlfriend. While the second season follows a U.S. Army soldier captured by the Taliban. I’m now on the beginning of the first season. I’ll see if this podcast is really as good as people said about it.
5. Freakonomics Radio
This is a podcast hosted by the author of Freakonomics, Stephen Dubner and his co-author Steve Levitt. It discovers the hidden side of everything each week. From cheating to crime to parenting and sports.
If you like to listen to surprising and thought-provoking conversations that explore the riddles of everyday life, this podcast is a must-listen. But beware, the podcast will have you think like a freak too!
